 PHASE 2 BUILDING PROJECT UPDATE - 12.14.24 〰️

ABOUT EUCLID & WHY WE NEED THESE IMPROVEMENTS:
Euclid Church of the Nazarene is located in downtown Boise, Idaho just blocks from Boise State’s athletic facilities.

We currently open our building to recovery groups such as AA and community groups like the community orchestra, Red Cross, and more. We also share our facility with a South Korean church that needed a space to worship after Covid closed the building they had been using.

There is a great need in our community by those experiencing food insecurity including BSU students and our homeless brothers and sisters. Every week we serve a meal out of our kitchen to help provide for those in need. We also have annual events such as our community Thanksgiving dinner. This year we served over 80 individuals who otherwise may not have had a hot meal. Additionally, our kitchen is used by other outside groups such as BSU Trio who partners with us to use the kitchen for their cultural class.

Three years ago we converted our Fellowship Hall to a Student Study Lounge that provides students a place to study during the week. We provide enterprise grade wifi, large whiteboard walls, a piano for music students, desks, charging stations, free coffee and cookies.

Unfortunately, our mechanical engineer has discovered a fairly expensive hang-up with the airflow/HVAC system that will add an additional $20,000-25,000 to the project.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Unfortunately, our facilities are lacking in the functionality and accessibility necessary for us to continue to expand our outreach and services to better support our communities. Presently we only have one toilet for the men and two for the women, none of which are ADA accessible. Further, we have reached our capacity to serve out of our small kitchen and need to expand it to be able to meet the needs of those we feed.

Euclid has been diligently working with architects, engineers, and contractors to find the most cost-effective ways to accomplish the following goals:

  1. Increase restroom sizes and accessibility

  2. Add a family restroom with a shower

  3. Increase kitchen size and functionality

  4. Keep office spaces for staff

  5. Retain size and function of the Fellowship Hall/Student Study Lounge

Euclid has just over $100,000 dollars of the capital needed for the project. Those funds were sufficient for the initial contracted labor, and we were already fundraising to purchase the equipment needed for the kitchen totaling roughly $25,000. Unfortunately, our mechanical engineer has discovered a fairly expensive hang-up with the airflow/hvac system that will add an additional $20,000-25,000 to the project.

Until the funds are raised to clear the airflow code issue, the project will again remain on hold.

We are asking that you continue to be in prayer that since God has brought us this far, God will make provision for the $45,000 - $50,000 shortage. Secondly, we are asking you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Phase 2 Project. Your contribution will help us continue serving our community for years to come.

Blessings-
Pastor Sam Bartolome & Euclid Church of the Nazarene
